Rocket post 50 for win at Fulton County

Devon Nesbitt scored 4 times at Fulton County.
HICKMAN, Ky. – Reigning First District Class A Player of the Year Devon Nesbitt worked on his highlight reel at Fulton County Friday while the Rockets made easy work of the Pilots in a 50-0 district victory.

Nesbitt, the Rockets’ leading rusher on the season, scored four touchdowns and posted 122 yards on the ground. The junior ran for three TDs and caught one of Hunter Boone’s three touchdown passes to round out his big night.

Boone also had scoring strikes to Mason Hunt and Payton Riley.

The Rocket defense produced its first shutout since Crittenden beat the now defunct Reidland Greyhounds at he midway point of the 2012 season. CCHS was in Fulton’s backfield all night and made stops 11 times behind the line of scrimmage.

Freshman Caden McCalister punctuated the defensive performance with a fourth-quarter interception and 70-yard return to finish off the Pilots.

The Rocket defense with several freshmen
playing recorded its first shutout since 2012.
Crittenden was playing without five starters due to injuries or disciplinary reasons. The backups – mostly freshmen – turned in suburb cameos and helped Crittenden get its second district win of the season.

The Rockets host Russellville next in the a game that will determine the district championship.
