Berry in Racers defensive backfield

As part of our series on local players in the college ranks, we are spotlighting Austin Berry, who quarterbacked the Rockets two seasons before moving on to Murray State. Berry's brother and cousin, Aaron and Brian, are currently on the Rocket football roster.

Redshirted during the 2007 season.

Berry joined the Racers as a quarterback, but quickly moved to defensive back where has moved up on the depth chart and is projected to get playing time during the 2008 season.

Joined the Racer football team in the spring of 2007.

High School: Four-year letterman for Crittenden County High School...graduated in 2006...helped the Rockets to an 18-6 combined record his last two seasons...all-Western Kentucky Conference selection, team captain and team offensive MVP as a junior and as a senior...set school records with 2,000 yards passing and 29 touchdowns as a junior...passed for 1500 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior...finished his career as the school’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns...also a member of the CCHS basketball and track teams.
