Crittenden County opened its preseason schedule Friday in a controlled scrimmage against Muhlenberg South. The Rocket varsity outscored South 3-2.
Muhlenberg South ran an option offense and Crittenden's defense was out of position or a step behind on several plays.
Offensively, the Rockets looked very good at times with J.D. Gray triggering an attack that is capable of applying a variety of pressure on opposing teams. Short screen passes and hard-nosed running will be the primary weapons based on what Crittenden showed in its opening scrimmage.
The Rockets play their final preseason game next Thursday at Hopkins Central.
