Ball mandate forces change in Rocket gear

Crittenden County will playing with a new ball for Friday's football game.

The Rockets (9-3) have traditionally used a Wilson football (pictured at right) and have all this season.

However, the KHSAA mandates that all playoff games be played using Rawlings balls (pictured at left). Rawlings sponsors the state football playoffs.

Crittenden's new balls arrived Thursday, just in time for the regional championship game against Mayfield. Mayfield generally uses the Rawlings style ball mandated for playoffs.

The seams no the Rawlings ball are bit higher than on the Wilson. Otherwise, the ball is the same.
