Rocket football team says goodbye to longtime supporter

For parts of five decades, Ronnie Myers, 68, had been part of the Rocket football staff. On Tuesday afternoon, his family, friends and the football team and staff said goodbye in a touching celebration of life at Rocket Stadium.

The service was led by Bro. Curtis Franklin, a pastor and former member of the Rocket coaching staff; former football player and pastor Ross Atwell and former Rocket football coach Al Starnes, who gave a eulogy remotely on the jumbo screen because he's at home recovering from an illness.

To honor Myers' legacy with the football program, the family has asked that memorials be made to the Crittenden County Quarterback Club, 175 Nunn Jent Rd., Marion, KY or any Farmers Bank location.

Myers, who passed away unexpectedly en route home from last Friday's football game at Henderson, was buried Tuesday at Mapleview Cemetery.
