Rockets unstoppable at Fulton

FULTON, Ky. - The only thing that stopped the Rocket offense was the back of the end zone and the game's final horn.

Crittenden County scored on every possession except its final drive when time ran out on a 57-0 road victory.

While the offense was unstoppable, Crittenden's defense dismantled the hapless Bulldogs who were playing without star running back Jacquise Lockett. With Lockett out for disciplinary reasons, Crittenden held Fulton to just 51 total yards.

The only black mark of the night was the loss of receiver Tanner Nix, who dislocated his left elbow during a 22-yard run late in the first period. Nix had scored earlier on a 49-yard touchdown pass from quarterback J.D. Gray. He and was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center at Mayfield. Dr. Johnny Newcom said Nix had no fractures, but it is not clear how long he will be sidelined.

Nix is the starting cornerback, also. His loss in the secondary would be sorely felt next week against Mayfield.

Fulton was unable to pose any type of a threat as Crittenden scored four first-quarter touchdowns. Gray passed for three scores and rushed for one. Rocket running backs scored four times.

Senior Allen Kirk caught the first touchdown pass of his career in the first half and Bowe Wallace rushed for his first TD ever in the fourth period.

Dyllan Thornton, Devin Wallace and Dustin Hernandez each had interceptions in the game as Fulton's quarterbacks completed just 1 of 6 passes.

Pictured above is Tanner Nix on the running play where he was injured Friday night.
