Game Notes, Previews, Statistics, etc.

BY ANDY HUNT

The Rocket defense held its opponent to single digits in its third consecutive season opener which is the first time that has happened in school history.

Maeson Myers is believed to have been the first freshman to score a touchdown in the season opener and one of the few freshmen to score a TD in his first game as a varsity player. Teammate Zach Tinsley scored a TD in his first game as a freshman in 2010. That was in the third game of the season.

Crittenden's 318 rushing yards in week 1 were the most in a season opener since 2008 when CC racked up 440 yards on the ground.
