Caldwell shirts lifting Starnes' spirits

This comes to the Rocket blog from the Times-Leader newspaper in Princeton.

A very noble gesture indeed from a long-time rival: Just goes to show that sportsmanship and humanity are Alive and Well in  western Kentucky athletics.

Caldwell County High School National Honor Society is selling T-shirts to benefit Crittenden County Rockets' head coach Al Starnes, who is battling colon cancer.

Shirts are $10 and may be purchased through Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Email nichelle.faughn@caldwell.kyschools.us or leigh.morris@caldwell.kyschools.us to place orders. Tiger fans are asked to wear the shirts to the Oct. 25 Caldwell game at Crittenden.

Rocket coach Al Starnes says he is humbled by the effort and it lifts his spirits to know that others have him in their thoughts and prayers.
