2019 District 1A, District 1 Round Up – Week 3
- Russellville, UNR (0-3) – After two blowout losses, Russellville played a close one and lost 20-15 to Butler County (1-2).  The win for Butler County snapped a 23-game losing streak dating back to 2016.  Butler County went 8-4 in 2016 but did not win a game the next two seasons.  Russellville takes on intercounty rival Logan County (#8, 3A, 3-0) this week.  Logan County beat Russellville 49-7 in 2018.  Logan County has won 11 games in each of the past two seasons but were blown out in the second round of the playoffs in both seasons.  A common opponent this season between Russellville and Logan County is Warren East.  Russellville lost to Warren East 0-48 and Logan County beat Warren East 35-17.  Logan County should cruise to an easy victory.
- Fulton County, T-15th AP Poll (2-1) – Fulton County pounded Fulton City, 52-14.  Fulton County’s Caleb Kimble who rushed for over 1,600 yards and scored 23 rushing touchdowns last year is on pace for 1,350 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns in 2019.  Fulton County takes on Webster County this week.
- Caverna, UNR (1-2) – Caverna only waited one week to start another losing streak as Berea (UNR, 1A, 3-0) notched a 44-21 over Caverna.  Berea’s three opponents this season are a combined 1-7.  Caverna takes on Breckinridge County (UNR, 5A, 2-1) this week.  Breckinridge beat Webster County last week 30-20.

Preston Morgeson
This season freshman, Preston Morgeson has 14 rushing attempts, 82 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns.  He is currently on pace for 47 rushing attempts, 273 rushing yards, and seven rushing touchdowns for the regular season.  Below are the current freshman records for rushing in a season:

  • CC is currently on a 7-game home winning streak.  The school record is 11 straight home wins from 1985-1986.
  • CC is 10-2 all-time in week 4 games when they are 3-0 to start the season.
  • CC has only started a season off with at least three road games four other times in school history (1958, 1966, 1972, 1974).  1972 is the only season the Rockets opened with four or more consecutive road games.
  • CC has scored at least 43 points in each of its first 3 games this season.  The only other time that CC team has matched that feat is in 1963.
  • CC is averaging 6.0 penalties per game this season.  That is the highest per game average since 2005 when that team average 6.8 penalties per game.
