AT A GLANCE: Russellville

BY: ANDY HUNT

Last Week Review

  • Sam Impastato recorded the 42nd time a Rocket player has had at least two sacks in a game.
  • The Rockets scored on a fumble recovery, interception return and a punt return last week at Fulton County.  That was the first time in school history Crittenden County scored three TDs or more in a game that were not scored on a run or a pass.
  • The Rockets scored 20 points in the fourth quarter last week.  To find a fourth quarter where the Rockets scored more than 20 points, you have to go back 251 games to Fulton County in 2000 when the Rockets scored 22 points in the fourth quarter.
  • CC scored eight or less points in each of the first three quarters and then scored 20 points in the 4th quarter during last week’s game.  Only one other time in the history of CC football has CC team accomplished that feat.  The other occurrence was in 2000 against Fulton County.
  • Logan Bailey has recorded the 15th time a Rocket player has at least four fumble recoveries in a season.  Billy Mills (1982) is the single season record holder with six.

ABOVE: Billy Mills (1982) holds the single season record for fumble recoveries in a season with six.  Mills also held the record for career fumble recoveries, with eight, for over 30 years.

  • Tucker Sharp recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD against Fulton County.  Sharp’s recovery is the 13th time a Rocket player has recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD.
ABOVE: Floyd Turley is one of the 13 players to recover a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown.  Turley recovered his in 1995 versus Lone Oak in a 14-20 loss.
  • The Rockets did not have a penalty last week versus Fulton County.  The last time that happed was 61 games ago in 2016 against Fulton City.
  • CC has allowed less rushing yards by its opponents over the last three games.  The last time that happened was the last four games of the 2013 season.
  • The Crittenden County defense has caused at least 15 incomplete passes in each of the last three games. That is only the third time a CC opponent has had 15 more incomplete passes in three consecutive games in school history (Union County, Murray, Trigg County in 2020 & Hopkins County Central, Caverna, and Bethlehem in 2018).  A streak of four games has never occurred.
