TRIGG COUNTY RECAP
- Crittenden County has had a 100-yard rusher in two games this season including one against Trigg County. That is notable considering that, over the previous 55 games dating back to 2021, the Rockets produced a 100-yard rusher in only three games.
- Against Trigg County, Crittenden County scored three rushing touchdowns without throwing a touchdown pass. It marked the first time in 41 games that the Rockets had scored at least three rushing touchdowns without a passing touchdown, dating back to the 2023 season opener against Webster County.
A GAME OF INCHES... AND 261 PENALTY YARDS
- The 29 combined penalties by Crittenden County and Trigg County were the most ever recorded in a Crittenden County football game.
- The two teams combined for 261 penalty yards, the third-highest total in Crittenden County history. The only games with more were 268 combined penalty yards against Murray in 2020 and the school-record 281 yards against Reidland in 1997.
- Trigg County was flagged 17 times in last week’s game. Over Crittenden County’s last 530 games, dating back to 1979, only one opponent has committed more penalties in a game. Fulton City was penalized 21 times against the Rockets in 1996, which remains the record for the most penalties by a Crittenden County opponent. Trigg County’s 17 penalties are tied for the third-most ever by a CC opponent.
- Trigg County was penalized for 165 yards, the second-highest total ever by a Crittenden County opponent. The only opponent with more penalty yardage was Reidland in 1972, when the Greyhounds accumulated 197 penalty yards. The total number of penalties called against Reidland in that game is not available.
- For comparison, the most penalty yards ever assessed against Crittenden County in a single game is 205, which came against Reidland in 1997.
HUGHES MAKES FIRST START AT QUARTERBACK
- Sophomore Hayden Hughes made his first varsity start at quarterback last week against Trigg County and helped lead the Rockets to a 21-20 victory. Hughes completed 10-of-19 passes for 160 yards without an interception. He also rushed 10 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
