KY Country Day

Crittenden County football is idle this week as the Rockets prepare for the Class A football playoffs and first-round opponent Kentucky Country Day.

You can get a glimpse of Kentucky Country Day's football team on the school's Web site. Click here.

The Bearcats have been playing 11-man football since 2003. Prior to that, they played 8-man football and won a state championship in 2002.

Here's the 2008 team photo. Ben Richter, No. 9 in the back, is the quarterback. He's the star player on the team, throwing for just over 2,200 yards the past two seasons. He's a straight-A student and president of the student body. Richter also plays linebacker and has registered 257 tackles the past three seasons.
