New PA Voice of the Rockets

The Crittenden County Rocket football program has announced that former Rocket player Jody Porter will be in the pressbox this season as the public address announcer for home varsity games.

Porter, a 1995 graduate of CCHS, replaces Nicky Winders behind the microphone. The Rocket public address announcer's position has a great deal of tradition behind it. Porter becomes only the fourth regular PA man in more than 25 years, following in the footsteps of Jack Mason, Del Brantley and Winders.

Porter will be assisted in the booth by spotter Matthew Hardin. Dr. Steve Crider is back as the game clock operator for the 25th season.

WMJL-Radio will feature the familiar voices of Zac Greenwell and Wompie Stewart each week.

Join the defending Class A First Region champion Rockets as they kick off the 2009 season at 7 p.m., Saturday against Massac County, Ill., in the Kentucky National Guard Warrior Bowl.
