Rockets don pink to fight cancer

High school football coaches and 120 teams across Kentucky are rallying around one of their own and his wife's battle with breast cancer. Denise Rains, wife of Class A Lexington Christian football coach Paul Rains, was diagnosed with breast cancer Sept. 2 and has begun chemotherapy treatments.

As a show of support for the Rains family, dozens of high school football teams, including Crittenden County, have purchased pink ribbons to wear on their helmets for the rest of the season. Coach Rains has been working with a company to provide the ribbons. So far, more than 5,000 orders have been received. Crittenden County's ribbons came in early this week and they will be worn on the rear of the helmet inside the black stripe.
