Rocket senior quarterback Brian Berry has a broken thumb on his throwing hand.
The QB got his thumb mashed during the Rockets 25-23 victory Friday at Massac County. Berry played much of the game with his thumb badly swollen.
Xrays on Monday confirmed that he has a fracture in the thumb on the right hand. It is unclear what type of impact the injury will have on his season. Berry has thrown for almost 300 yards in the first two games.
The Rockets are off this Friday, which will help Berry's hand heal before Crittenden is scheduled to play McLean County at home on Sept. 10. If he is able to play, the finger will be cast and heavily taped.
The Rockets have also lost sophomore receiver/cornerback Ethan Hill to a broken arm, which he suffered in the second half of the game at Massac County.
